Silverton Hotel

Silverton Hotel Poker & Bingo Nights
It was a night out at the Silverton Hotel Casino for the media to enjoy playing video poker and Blingo Bingo. Laura Herlovich of PR Plus invited the media to two nights of gambling, food, candy and drinks. I arrived early and had my pick of a video poker machine and I picked number 13 thinking that would be lucky, but number two was the lucky winning poker machine that night.

As I was leaving I saw the Paradise Fishing slot machine and I had to play it and guess what? I hooked a $100.00 fish so I did end up being a winner for the night. I walked out with $100.00.

The next week I went to the Blingo Bingo and it was a nice event.

I did not win but I sat at a table where everyone won two and three times. Carol and her husband won the big prize of $200.00, a cuple of $25.00 prizes and a diamond necklace. Now that is being real lucky. We were all happy for them.

San Gennaro Feast

San Gennaro Feast

The 32nd Annual San Gennaro Feast was held at the Rio All- Suite Hotel Casino by organizer Anthony Palmisano. Anthony started the Italian Festival in Miami in 1972 and has kept the Italian culture going with a taste of great food and entertainment. San Gennaro was the Bishop of Benevento, Italy and is the patron saint of Naples Italy.

For over 25 years, Tony Sacca has been a part of the San Gennaro Feast as the entertainment director and brings nightly to the stage, the best of the Las Vegas entertainers.

It was delightful to see the cast of “Nunsense” do a number on stage. The story is about the Nuns in a convent in Hoboken N.J. who are holding a fund raiser to get money to bury a few nuns who were accidently poisoned and died and were stored in the freezer in the basement of the convent. It is silly and funny and very entertaining and a joy to watch these talented ladies.

There were a variety of foods but the ones that stood out were the old time favorites of Sausage and Pepper stands and the Philly Cheese Steak stands. Lots of carnival games to win stuffed animals, a psychic to tell your fortune and a stand full of beautiful parrots. One parrot was on America’s Got Talent show this season and he really does speak clearly.

Anthony Palmisano flew in Chris Lista, who had performed with Tony Sacca over 38 years ago, to be a part of the entertainment for the festival for the entire week. It was a great reunion for Chris and Tony as they shared the stage to perform together.

Lena Prima, daughter of the great Louis Prima sang a lot of the classic songs of her father. It was great entertainment and the audience loved her performance.

The Feast was a huge success and it was packed every night with hungry men, women and children who enjoyed feasting on the fabulous Italian foods. I can’t wait for the next San Gennaro Feast.

Forever Kings

Forever Kings

Chris Gardner and Brad Colin have put together a new show “Forever Kings” that pays tribute to the King of Pop, Michael Jackson and the King of Rock, Elvis Presley. The two kings have earned a spot in the hearts of everyone and both Chris and Brad are perfect in their portrayal of the two kings. http://www.foreverkingsusa.com/
Chris Gardner has studied Michael Jackson since he was six years old. He would watch him on T.V. and started dancing and imitating his moves. His father was a singer and his mother a dancer, both had musical backgrounds so all this came natural to Chris. All this practice paid off because when he entered a talent contest in High School and performed his Michael Jackson routine, the crowd went wild. He loved the spot light and he loved being the center of attraction.

Not only did Chris perfect the dance routines, he also perfected the make up and all the body moves to a tee. You would swear that you were watching the real Michael Jackson.

I met up with Chris at Starbucks and was fascinated as he told me everything he knew about Michael Jackson. Apparently all these years of studying him paid off because he knew all the facts about his life. Chris met Michael years ago at the Aladdin Hotel at the music awards.

Chris has traveled all over the world performing as Michael and has just recently returned to Las Vegas after a year long tour in Japan. He does corporate shows, private shows and private parties. Chris does his own make up and it is perfect. I think that he is the best Michael Jackson Impersonator in the world. Chris has done parties for Paris Hilton and she considers him one of her personal friends.

Chris Gardner joined up with Brad Colin, who has a voice that sounds just like Elvis Presley, and they created a new show called “Forever Kings”. A lot of time and effort went into this show, with a lot of meetings to brain storm to get the perfect show for the two kings. One such meeting took place at the Cannery to finalize their web site and videos.

Brad Colin sings all eras of Elvis’s music and his singing would do Elvis proud. Brad has been performing for many years and he too has perfected his tribute to Elvis.
Chris and Brad are now planning on going on tour in Brazil and when they return they will look into finding a showroom to do their “Forever Kings” show.

Kenny Rogers

Kenny Rogers

Kenny Rogers is an icon whose legendary voice is immediately recognized by his raspy soulful sound. His music stands out by the storytelling lyrics of all his songs. I have loved Kenny Rogers for years as have all of his loyal fans. His greatest hits Album has sold over 24 million copies

Kenny Rogers made a special appearance at the Aquarius Hotel Casino in Laughlin NV to a full house. We were special VIP guests of Arizona Charlie’s Decatur and Arizona Charlie’s Boulder and were wined and dined and spent the night in the Aquarius Hotel and that included going to Kenny’s show. Our hosts were magnificent and they treated us like royalty. Cyndy Fought, Market Director, Sean Hammond, General Manager of the Aquarius, and Marci Weiss, Casino Host and Susan Murphy, Vice President of Marketing & Player Development.

Kenny Rogers put his heart into all his songs and his band entertained the crowd as well. He asked the men in the audience who was dragged to the show and he picked out a man in the front row who raised his hand and told him he would be a believer at the end of the show and if he would raise his hand everytime Kenny sang one of his hit songs he would give him $10.00. He stood to collect over $100.00. The man agreed and Kenny tossed money for the rest of the show and the man did believe in him.

The most touching songs were “She Believes in Me” “Lucille” “Ruby, Don’t Take Your Love to Town” and my all time favorite “Lady”. That song brought back loving memories of a past relationship with Richie Webb, who I loved very much.

It was a great event and the bus ride was special thanks to Marci Weiss and Allan Alonzo who made everyone feel special. We are all looking forward to more special events from Arizona Charlie’s.

On Aug. 30-Sept.3rd at the South Point Hotel and Casino Equestrian Event Center, Las Vegas, once again welcomed the Pure Spanish Championship Horse Show to the Equestrian Arena. The Foundation for the Pure Spanish Horse invited the public to an all new production of The Horse of the Kings Theater which was spectacular. These Andalusians are called the Pura Raza Espanole in Spain are magnificent and have long been loved by royalty and called “Horse of Kings”. http://www.prehorse.org/

The media was invited to a special night to see the horses and meet Richard Nickerson, President of the Foundation, Cameron English, VP and Chairman of the Show and Barb Clark, Executive Director. They all did a splendid job in putting together the show and were such welcoming, gracious hosts. Their love and dedication to the Pure Spanish Horse is commendable.

Mexican Heritage Night featured El Puma de Sinaloa Concierto y Baile with La Sonora de Colombia and the Banda Zacaterana who entertained the crowd with their music.

Rafael Madrigal was so entertaining, charming and talented in his singing and in his handling of the four horses he rode from the Ranch of Alfreda Zepeda. Too bad I didn’t understand what he was saying but I loved every minute of it. I was sitting at an arena table and he called me over and asked if I spoke Spanish and I said no and then Rafael handed me the microphone and I asked him if he wanted me to sing, but he only wanted me to hold the live microphone so he could mount his horse again. It was a funny moment that I wanted to share with you.

The National Anthem was sung by Schatar Sapphira who was brought into the arena by a carriage and she officially opened the show.

Lisa Alley-Zarkades skillfully did the Flamenco Dance with the horses and was one of the high lights of the evening.

The Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament, that stars in the Excaliber Hotel was also a part of the show with their incredible stallions and everyone loved them.

There were daily exhibitions, educational clinics, an Art Expo, a silent Auction and many vendors. One exceptional vendor had authentic dresses from Spain that were beautiful and eye catching.

Cameron English, Director and Chairman had a thought about doing a theatrical production and Gary Ware wrote and partnered up with Cameron to produce this great show. They received a standing ovation at the end of the show.

Also to be commended is Bruce Merrin who did a great job as the PR on this event. http://www.celebrityspeakersentertainment.com/

The Spanish Horse demonstrates the nobility and grace and performs anything he is asked to do. Their long, thick, flowing manes are breathtaking and beautiful and it is an instant love at first sight when you see them. There is a natural communication between the horse and the rider and a bond of trust is achieved as they learn their dance movements to obtain perfection.
