They both did a great job co-hosting Miss Universe. It also was a nice reunion with Donald Trump who hired him as the Celebrity Apprentice on the past Apprentice show. Donald Trump is proud of the Miss Universe pageant, which he co owns with NBC.

Rock and Rita’s

The nations Flair Challenge was held on August 17, 2010 at Rock and Rita’s inside the Circus Circus Hotel in Las Vegas. Rock and Rita’s hosted the Great American Party with attendees from all over the world. The best Flair Bartenders converged for the glory of winning the title of the best Flair bartender in the world and taking home the $10,000.00 prize. The event started at 8:00 pm and ended at 1:30 am. Danilo Oribe, from Montevideo, Uraguay was the winner of the 2010 Nations Grand Champions and everyone was so excited because Danilo was a bartender at Rock and Rita’s. http://www.rockandritas.com/

Danilo has won over 30 first place trophies and has performed all over the world and put on over 1,000 shows. He is a master of his trade and truly entertains while mixing the drinks. It takes a lot of practice and precision to be a Flair Bartender. It is magical to watch as they juggle the glasses and bottles.

There were two days of qualifying rounds and final rounds and they were judged on their speed, flair and accuracy. Their flair is broken down into working flair showing their style and moves, and the exhibition flair which is for show and entertainment. The first day started out with 75 and ended up to the final 10.
There were other amateur flair contests and the winner of that competition was Brandon Henderson.

This can also be called extreme bartending and bar magic and it is as entertaining as watching a performer juggling in a vaudeville act. All this became popular when Tom Cruise starred in the movie “Cocktail”, although Flair has been around since the late 1800’s.
Chef Josette LeBlond

Everyone loves a party, so everyone was excited to go to celebrate the birthday party for Chef Josette Le Blond on August 7, 2010 at the Las Vegas Rocks Café. Eight months ago Josette and Tony Sacca pooled their talents together to become partners in the Las Vegas Rocks Café. It is located at 450 Fremont Street at the corner of Las Vegas Blvd.
The party was in the main dining room of the café and friends, family and fans all came to celebrate. Vintage photos of old vegas and video clips of Josette’s cooking show “La Cuisine” was shown through out the 20,000 sq. ft. building. Many headliners showed up and became the party too. One of my favorites was Roy Hammock who is a performer in the Country Superstars and who pays tribute to Willie Nelson.

The Embassy Theatre is in the back of the café and the guests were treated to “Vegas the Show” starring Tony Sacca. The café is named after the song “Las Vegas Rocks” that Tony wrote. It was a musical journey from 1930 to the present day. It was very entertaining and by the smiles on everyone’s faces, it was a hit.
Josette was the perfect hostess as she greeted everyone that entered the café. She looked absolutely fabulous and beautiful in her yellow evening gown. The party continued on after the show with a disco party and dancing.

Happy Birthday Josette and we all look forward to another great birthday party next year.

Julio Iglesias

Julio Iglesias has been awarded the prestigious Maximum Hispanic Pride Award by the Las Vegas International Press Association. June 10 “Julio Iglesias Day” also marked the start of his Las Vegas Concert Series.
Julio Iglesias was the most popular Latin singer of the 70s and 80s and sold over 250 million records and performed over 5000 concerts. Julio has recorded records in Spanish, Italian and French. He is an international superstar, singer and songwriter and has made duets with Willie Nelson “To All the Girls I’ve loved before” and duets with Stevie Wonder, Frank Sinatra and Dianna Ross.
It was an exciting night as everyone gathered at the Las Vegas Hilton to see Julio perform in his concert. He is a smooth crooner and when he sings, the women swoon to his romantic lyrics. Julio sings to every heart and soul in the audience and you can feel his love. He portrays the Latin lover we have all dreamed of making love to.
Julio Iglesias performed with a five piece band, three fabulous back up singers and two ballroom dancers in his show. One of the back up singers got a kiss on the lips from Julio during her performance. What a lover he is.

Julio ended the concert with one of my all time favorite that I know you will love to hear again.
