Photos by Nikki Artale

Raiding the Rock Vault takes you on a rock journey with great songs from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s with amazing musicians who were all former members from some of the best bands. It takes you through a two hour rock journey, showing their passion and love with every song they sing and play. www.raidingtherockvault.com

Double screens are set up on the stage and shows life during the time of the bands they were covering, such as The Eagles, Foreigner, Rolling Stones, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, to name a few. It was a visual story of Rock Music.

The audience was a mixture of young and old fans who loved the interaction with the rock stars, going back in time to recreate their years of growing up with the fabulous music. They were standing, clapping and singing and loving every minute of the high energy show.

Some of the all-star band members were John Payne from Asia, Paul Shortino from Quiet Riot whose dance moves were awesome, Robin McAuley from Suvrivor and Traci Guns from Guns N Roses. It was a theatrical production and everyone had such great stage presence. The show will feature periodic special guests performing with the band.

What a great show with established musicians who had the passionate music fans getting up on their feet as they played almost nonstop for two hours. It is a show worth going back many times to see again and again to get your fill of this wonderful classic rock music.

I was glad to see that the show Absinthe won for the best production show to bring visitors to. I was one of the first people to see Absinthe when it first came to the Caesars Tent, at Caesars Palace in Vegas, and from the first time I saw it, to the last time I attended, I thought it was fabulous and I absolutely love the Gazillionaire and Penny Pibbets.

Lola Rosa from Body English Nightclub Afterhours was ecstatic holding her award.

Naya Simone won for “Drag Queen We Love” and she certainly deserves the award. I love Maya Simone who I first met a few years ago when she starred in the Drag Queen Cabaret Show at Lucky Cheng’s in Las Vegas. She is an outstanding personality and you can see Maya in the show “Match Game” at Drink & Drag downtown.

Another outstanding character was Sir Gaga, who in real life answers to the name of Gary Fisher. Gary was kept busy taking pictures with everyone in Stoney’s. He was dressed up with loads of jewelry, feathers, beads, scarves, tight spandex leggings, lots of glitter and you name it, he was wearing it. He looked like a walking department store.

Seen partying with the best of the best winners was John Payne who is one of the stars of the hit show “Raiding the Rock Vault” at the LVH Hotel and Casino. It is a fabulous two hour rock concert that keeps the audience clapping, singing and on their feet. John Payne is the co-producer and musical director of the show. These amazing musicians were all former members of some of the best bands.

It was a fun night and I love the Weekly Magazine which I say is the best weekly publication in Las Vegas that keeps Las Vegas informed and entertained.

Silver Sevens Hotel Sign Lights Up

On the corner of Paradise Road and Flamingo Road, Affinity Gaming lit up their new Silver Sevens Marquee sign. The new name incorporates Nevada as the Silver State and the Lucky 7 gambling emblem. The hotel was once owned by Terrible’s Hotel & Casino.

The Affinity Gaming has spent over 7 million dollars to renovate the 60,000 sq. ft. casino, which is only one mile away from the Las Vegas Strip. It is a two level casino, has a Bingo Parlor and a 24 hour café and is a local favorite.

It took over 18 months to renovate and just in time for the 4th of July. On July 1st the media was invited to a party to celebrate the name change and the lighting of the new sign. The rooms featured new furniture and bathrooms, a renovated Sports Book, the Corona Cantina Bar and a new Welcome Center got a new look.  A party followed with lots of champagne, delicious food featuring huge Shrimps and Crab Claws, along with fruits, cheeses, fabulous pastries and a celebration cake.

At 8:00 pm we all went on the roof to continue the party and see the sign light up to officially welcome the Silver Sevens Hotel and Casino on Paradise Road. David Nolan, general manager of the Silver Seven Hotel thanked everyone connected with the event and he took pride in watching the sign light up.

A film Bethany’s Story the Power from within is an inspiring story of Bethany, who at 13 years old was paralyzed from reactions to medications and told she would never walk again. On her own, Bethany adopted a raw vegan plant based diet and within a short time she was out of the wheel chair and walking again. The film reveals how food, not medicine, consistently proves to be a dominant factor healing a reversing illness and disease. The film was produced by Janet McKee
