Rock and Rita’s
The nations Flair Challenge was held on August 17, 2010 at Rock and Rita’s inside the Circus Circus Hotel in Las Vegas. Rock and Rita’s hosted the Great American Party with attendees from all over the world. The best Flair Bartenders converged for the glory of winning the title of the best Flair bartender in the world and taking home the $10,000.00 prize. The event started at 8:00 pm and ended at 1:30 am. Danilo Oribe, from Montevideo, Uraguay was the winner of the 2010 Nations Grand Champions and everyone was so excited because Danilo was a bartender at Rock and Rita’s.

Danilo has won over 30 first place trophies and has performed all over the world and put on over 1,000 shows. He is a master of his trade and truly entertains while mixing the drinks. It takes a lot of practice and precision to be a Flair Bartender. It is magical to watch as they juggle the glasses and bottles.
There were two days of qualifying rounds and final rounds and they were judged on their speed, flair and accuracy. Their flair is broken down into working flair showing their style and moves, and the exhibition flair which is for show and entertainment. The first day started out with 75 and ended up to the final 10.
There were other amateur flair contests and the winner of that competition was Brandon Henderson.

This can also be called extreme bartending and bar magic and it is as entertaining as watching a performer juggling in a vaudeville act. All this became popular when Tom Cruise starred in the movie “Cocktail”, although Flair has been around since the late 1800’s.
