World Tea Expo 2011

World Tea Expo 2011

The World Tea Expo, the largest event for the tea industry, was held at the Las Vegas Convention Center on June 24-26, 2011. It caters to the tea retailers, food services and other business professionals, giving them many educational sessions and tea tastings from around the world. http://www.worldteaexpo.com/

A Tea Infusion Challenge was held to find the best infusionist and it is all about the method used to steep the tea, technical skills and tea knowledge.

Tea tastings were held everyday in the North American Tea Championship Winners Tasting Circle on the exhibit hall floor. Also on display were pastries and tea biscuits’ to go along with the many samples of teas. Food demonstrations were held throughout the day.

A Russian teapot was on display and caught the eyes of many attendees as to its beauty and its function.

The seminar I looked forward to attending was on comparing the $20.00 a pound tea to the $200.00 a pound tea. It was an interesting morning as we tasted 9 different teas and gave each one a rating. Would you believe that I rated the $65.00 a pound tea higher than the $200.00 a pound tea.

I usually look for one new product in the Tea Expo and this year I found an outstanding, clever one. It is “The Finger Fork” by The Artful Penguin, LLC. The Finger Fork was created and designed by owner, artisan Sheryl Konnerth.

847 721-6995. Each piece is handcrafted with the finest stainless steel pieces, glass beads and natural stones. Each hand beaded piece is unique and original and I am a proud owner of the Finger Fork Set, thanks to Sheryl Konnerth.

I want to add that I am a tea drinker and I loved going to the Tea Expo and sampling all the wonderful teas.

The 38th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards ceremony was full of glamour and glitz at the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel in Las Vegas. On June 19, 2011 the stars walked the Red Carpet to the cheers of thousands of TV fans who arrived as early as 9 am to line the red carpet for viewing and screaming.
Wayne Brady hosted the show and much to the delight of everyone he danced in the opening number with Jabbawockkeez, who are headliners at the Monte Carlo and a show favorite of “Americas Got Talent”. Wayne has his own fan club from “Let’s make a Deal” which has been an all time favorite of daytime game shows.

Lifetime achievement awards were presented to Pat Sajak “Wheel of Fortune” and Alex Trebek “Jeopardy” for outstanding game/audience participation shows. The awards were well deserved and I can attest to that because I have been watching both shows for years.

Marie Osmond looked beautiful and elegant as always and reported that she will be joining the cast of “the Bold and the Beautiful” in the fall. It will be exciting to see her on the show which won an Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series for the third consecutive year.

The excitement continued after the awards show ended as everyone headed out to the after parties. There were many parties in various ballrooms in the hotels on the strip.

We ended up at the after party at Wynn Las Vegas and loved being there with everyone. The Emmy winners clutched their Emmy Statues the entire evening, as I would have, had I won one.

See you next year at the Emmys.

Dinair
They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder but in this case it is in the hands of Dina Ousley, the founder of Dinair Airbrush Makeup. Dina is President and Founder of Dinair since 1981 and for 30 years she has made the average person look like a model with her airbrush machine. Dina has worked on The Bold and the Beautiful, many TV shows and commercials

Dina Ousley with TV Camera Man
Dina employs over 150 talented makeup artists and her products are found in salons and spas worldwide. The artists are makeup experts who airbrush the makeup on for daily wear, glamour and high definition. One such artist is Julie Tobias who has magic in her hands as she creates the perfect look on the faces, as if it was a canvas.

                                         Julie Tobias

Dinair’s booth was busy and crowded all day long as the ladies, and some men too, waited to become beautiful.

One gentleman had a zebra pattern stenciled on his head and beard and he looked outrageously handsome and different.

Fantasy looks were popular and all the designs were stunning and beautiful. The colors and the glitter were fabulous and a one of a kind looks.

A second booth was set up on the other side of the convention center to make sure that everyone got to see Dinair and get their free makeovers. A treat was in store for them as they viewed the handsome male models displaying their glittered painted bodies.

I was planning to attend the Emmy Awards and Dina Ousley took the time to put on my makeup and body glitter for the awards later that evening. Her magic worked and I was transformed into a beauty. Thank you Dina, everyone loved my makeup.

Chella
Hello Beautiful

Dee Dee Marcelli & Chris Kolodziejski

Hello Beautiful is a greeting that women want to hear as they strive for this beauty inside and out. The words make an impact in our every day life. Portraying this beauty is Dee Dee Marcelli, a celebrity makeup artist and a spokes person for Chella. I found her to be beautiful and fascinating and a master at her craft. Chella is a professional skin care and anti aging system that restores skin cells and fights aging. The products are found in day spas in 15 different countries and used by many celebrities.

Dee Dee has done the makeup for President George W Bush and President Ronald Reagan and was with First Lady Nancy Reagan for six years doing her makeup for her TV appearances. Dee Dee’s recent TV shows have been “Americas Top Model” and “I’m a Celebrity Get Me out of Here”. She has done numerous Red Carpets, the American Music Awards, the Oscars and has been nominated twice for the Emmys. I was so excited to have Dee Dee create a new brow look on me, I felt like a star, and I have had many compliments since then on my look. After all, it was done by a master.

Chella got Dee Dee on board a year ago to launch their eye brow collection with a new line of colors and tools. In 2003 Chris Kolodziejski President and Founder of the company brought her in to help design their eyebrow line and to hand pick colors and stencils.

Dee Dee loves to transform women, to make them feel pretty so they can feel better about themselves. She has some great tips on contouring and shading, drawing and creating beautiful lips. Dee Dee has an idea for a new product in development that has never been done in the cosmetic industry, a new revolutionary product that does not exist yet and it is in the realm of color. It is a natural product that is going to change the way makeup is used. She has huge goals and aspirations and thinks Chella will corner the market with their new eye brow line and said “ when someone mentions eyebrows they will say Chella”.

MAC Cosmetics

M A C has kicked off the summer with the M-A-C’s new surf Baby Collection at their Fashion Show Mall store in Las Vegas. It was a fun filled day with makeovers, body painting, lots of music and more.

The male models, Lee & Tosh were a big draw to the event and the women loved them.

Besides painting the young men, surf boards, T shirts, many other products were painted and stenciled to the delight of the onlookers.

Everyone was treated to a makeover by the MAC artists who took their time to concentrate on one feature of the face to display their artistry. Everyone walked away with a happy smiley face, covered by MAC makeup.

M.A.C. has over l million fans and is the most popular beauty company on Facebook and has many how-to videos on YouTube. I am including a video that my daughter-in-law Crystal Artale did for M.A.C. as a review on her web site. http://www.crystalis007.com/

The Magic of Paris

The Magic of Paris
Stephane Vanel

Photos by Nikki Artale
The Magic of Paris is a unique show featuring slight of hand magician Stephane Vanel from Paris, France. On June 1, 2011 Stephane opened his show in the Anthony Cools Showroom and he was warmly greeted by the audience. The Magic of Paris is produced by Thierry Cohen who has put together a great cast to entertain all age groups. The show runs Tuesday through Sunday at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. and is dark on Mondays.

The show starts with two beautiful Parisian dancers who set the mood of being in Paris with their sexy song and dance routine. I must say that the Las Vegas dancers have fabulous bodies and a pleasure and a delight to watch. Stephane performed a tango with Audrey Remy-Listier that was sexy and hot.

Stephane Vanel charms and mesmerizes the audience with his handsome looks and his graceful body movements on stage. He reminded me of the actor Gilles Marini, the French Actor, who had a role in Sex and The City film and was Cheryl Burke’s partner in Dancing with the stars. Gilles is so handsome and he is a product of a Greek mother and an Italian Father, gee that is the mixture of my sons.

Excellent is how you would describe his performance as you sit in wonderment trying to see how Stephane manipulated the cards and had the girls appear and disappear with ease.

Anthony Rais

Anthony Rais, a master puppeteer, was part of The Magic of Paris Show featuring his puppet Totolino. Totolino is a boy clown who will tug your heart strings as he is manipulated by 23 strings and moves gracefully and artfully with the music from Paliachi. Normally a puppet has nine strings to be manipulated so you can imagine what Anthony Rais is doing with his 23 strings. It is absolutely brilliant and breathtaking.

Totolino floats gracefully into the air by a balloon and his movements are so life like.

                                   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yeq8iobk3hY
Anthony brought on another one of his many puppets who was dressed in a beautiful white dress that had been made from his mothers wedding gown.

It was magical to see how the puppets captured the attention of the audience. Anthony Rais brings his magic to shows all over the world and the world is a better place by his memorable performances with his puppets.

I am looking forward to seeing Anthony Rais in Siegfried “The Show”. His impersonation is flawless with his accent, movements and spectacular costumes. The audience reviews say he is spectacular and think he is the real Siegfried.

We all enjoyed Anthony greeting everyone after the show.

The entire cast spent time with the fans outside the showroom.

We got to hang around with everyone at the after party in the Sugar Factory at the Paris Hotel. The food and especially the candy were great.
