Pure Spanish Horse Show
Pure Spanish Horse Show
A class was held to learn about judging the P.R.E. horses from the world’s leading experts, Col. Javier Velazquez and Mercedes Cort. The class started at 9:00 am and ended at 2:00 pm in the practice arena for hands on learning.
Terry Waechter is the proud owner of FugitivoX11 who was used in the judging class. Watchman Pura Raza Espanola is home to many special horses. Terry has used Fugitive X11 to breed for over two years and about a month ago when he was available for sale; she jumped at the chance to buy him. He truly is an amazing and beautiful horse. www.purespanishmares.com
Many awards and a $5,000 money prize were awarded to many of the Spanish Horses. Barbara Clark, Executive Director of the Pure Spanish Horse Association did a fabulous job and was there to present the awards. Barbara Clark said she went to Spain 30 years ago on a scholarship and met the Pure Spanish horses and fell in love with them.

Another winner was one of my favorites. The outfits and the flowers in the horse’s mane were so beautiful.

After a two and a half year run at Harrah’s Reno, Greg London has brought his show to the Riviera Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. Greg said he is truly living his dream now that he is playing in Las Vegas. Greg London’s Icons have won him the “2009 Entertainer of the Year” award and also “Best Show of Northern Nevada”. Appearing in his cast of dancers are Sarah Jessica Rhodes, Christine Richards and Tarrah Leon.

Greg pleases his audience with his outstanding talent and impressions of Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Rod Stewart, Ozzy Osbourne, Elvis Presley, Tom Jones, Barry Manilow, Sammy Davis, Jr.,
Billy Joel and many more. He engages his audience in the songs and makes them a part of the act with the sing along.
Greg held everyone’s attention with his charm and personality during his 65 minutes on stage. His repertoire goes from country to rock and it blends into a show that is geared for all ages. Greg started playing the trumpet with his grandfather when he was a child and he still uses the same trumpet now in his show. He also plays the guitar, piano and harmonica.

The media attended a cocktail party before the show, a red carpet and an after party where everyone got to spend some quality time with Greg London and his producers.
The Producers were proud of Greg and the great reviews they were receiving from the crowd.
Greg was recognized by Mayor Oscar Goodman with a Proclamation Day named for him at the after party.

Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club
Larry Flynt and his partner Jason “Cash” Mohney, have opened a mega gentlemen’s club at 5969 Dean Martin Drive in Las Vegas. The four story, 70,000 square foot building is the largest Vegas adult venue and the main floor holds 2 main stages. The second floor has glass bottom cat walks and stages. The VIP Grand Honey Suites are reserved for Larry Flynt and Jason Mohney and their personal guests. There are over 20 more VIP suites for all the other guests.
Also on the second floor you will find the DJ booth with direct views for the entire first and second floors. The DJ’s do a great job in selecting the music through out the night. The building has an open floor plan so you can see the entire room, no matter where you are seated. The dancers are experts in their field of dancing as they climb up the poles.
The Hustlers club is designed to host large corporations with their special events. Another specialty will be the wedding chapel on the fourth floor roof top. The view of the strip is magnificent and romantic and perfect for special events. Also on the roof top are hot tubs, a bar and cabanas. My colleague Victoria Alexander attested to this as she climbed the stairs to inspect the roof top. We attended the hospitality and service industry night and enjoyed the complimentary drinks and the buffet.
With over 5 bars and many waitresses’ catering to every ones whims, the drinks flowed along with the delicious finger foods. Enjoying himself that night was Mr. Chris, a DJ from the Crown Nightclub at the Rio.
Hustler’s Club is not only a beautiful gentlemen’s club, it is a show place where everyone will want to go. I was very impressed with Larry Flynt’s Hustlers Mega Club.
The club held a few soft openings for the media and the industry and the next event will be its Grand Opening on Sept. 10-11. While driving by, check the outdoor sign for special events and special guest appearances from many known entertainers.

The Miss Universe pageant was held on August 23, 2010 at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. Jimena Navarrete, Miss Mexico was crowned Miss Universe 2010, after competing with 82 other beauties that were represented from six continents. She was crowned by Miss Universe 2009, Stefania Fernandez.

Co-hosts for the evening were Rock Star Bret Michaels and the NBC correspondent Natalie Morales. Everyone loved seeing Bret Michaels back on the stage. He is so loved by his fans. They both did a great job co-hosting Miss Universe. It also was a nice reunion with Donald Trump who hired him as the Celebrity Apprentice on the past Apprentice show. Donald Trump is proud of the Miss Universe pageant, which he co owns with NBC.

The contestants competed all week long in swim suits and evening gowns and it was a hard decision for the judges.
The final top five countries were Mexico, Jamaica, Australia, Ukraine and Phillipines.
Fourth runner up was Miss Phillipines Venus Raj, Third runner up was Miss Ukraine Anna Poslavska, Second runner up was Miss Australia Jesinta Campbell, First runner up was Miss Jamaica Yendi Phillipps, and the winner Miss Mexico Jimena Navarrete.

Miss Universe 2010 Jimena Navarrete came into the press room at the end of the evening and was joined on the stage with Lupita Jones, a former Miss Mexico who won the Miss Universe crown in 1991.
